Purple Vienna Kohlrabi is a unique heirloom in the brassica family. Originating from Austria, this kohlrabi is known for its sweet, crisp, slightly nutty flavor. Kohlrabi is related to the wild mustard plant and was cultivated by artificial selection for lateral meristem growth in the 1600s in Europe. In the United States, kohlrabi was rare until the 1880s

When planted near tomatoes, lettuce, and peppers, kohlrabi can help repel harmful pests such as aphids and attract beneficial insects like ladybugs.

Kohlrabi is a must-have in our home and can be eaten raw or cooked. Our favorite ways to eat it are raw, dipped in ranch or hummus, and as part of a cold broccoli salad, but we also like it roasted and stir-fried.

Starter will be in a 4" reusable nursery pot.
