The Tomatillo, also known as the Mexican husk tomato, has been cultivated for centuries and developed by the indigenous peoples of Mexico. It's an heirloom variety grown for more than 200 years and used in salsa, stews, and soups.
What sets this variety apart is its unique flavor - slightly tart with a hint of sweetness. The tomatillos grow inside a papery husk and are typically harvested when green and firm. They are highly prolific, producing up to 200 fruits per plant. Use the tomatillos to make fine-tasting salsa verde!
Interplant with basil, marigolds, calendula, onions, garlic, chives, thyme, rosemary, and oregano to improve flavor, increase harvest, repel harmful pests, and attract beneficial insects like bees and ladybugs.
Starter will be in a 4" reusable nursery pot.
