The Sumter heirloom is a vigorous, hardy vine with strong disease resistance and excellent yields of 6-inch cucumbers. W. C. Barnes of the Clemson Agricultural Experiment Station developed Sumter in 1973. Excellent for pickling or eating fresh.
Corn, lettuce, greens, peas, beans, radishes, onions, dill, carrots, beets, borage, and flowers are all beneficial companions. Don't plant cucumbers near potatoes, squash, or gourds.
Starter will be in a 4" reusable nursery pot.
