Petit Gris de Rennes melons are a rare heirloom variety originating in France in the 17th century. The name translates to "little gray of Rennes". In 1636, the melons were discovered growing in the garden of the Bishop of Rennes and were selected for their small size, sweet caramel-brown sugar taste, and tender flesh.
Fruits are 2 - 3 lb fruits with small seed cavities.
Melons are a rich source of potassium, vitamin A, and vitamin C, as well as potassium and fiber.
Melons need good pollination to ensure that you have ample fruit set. Plant with lots of herbs and flowers to bring in pollinators.
Starter will be in a 4" reusable nursery pot.
