Little Gem lettuce is a superb heat-tolerant miniature heirloom variety of romaine lettuce. It has a crunchy romaine texture and a mild, sweet flavor like butter lettuce. Little Gem lettuce heads are petite at only 6" tall and 4" wide and are sturdy, crisp, and naturally slightly sweet. Chefs and home gardeners favor it for taste, disease resistance, fast maturity, and high yields per square foot. It is rich in Vitamin A, beta-carotene, Lutein, Zeaxanthin, Potassium, Calcium, Phosphorus, and Folate.
