Edisto 47 was released in 1964 by Dr. Morris C. Hughes of Clemson Edisto Experiment Station in Blackville, South Carolina. Edison 47 melons are mildly sweet, have superior disease resistance, and outperform other varieties in high heat and humidity. This prolific heirloom variety produces 3 - 5 pound melons.
Melons are a rich source of potassium, vitamin A, and vitamin C, as well as potassium and fiber.
Melons need good pollination to ensure that you have ample fruit set. Plant with lots of herbs and flowers to bring in pollinators.
Starter will be in a 4" reusable nursery pot.
