Introduced in 1949 and All-America Selections winner in 1950, Congo heirloom variety. It's hard to find, but it is a very sweet, beautiful watermelon that's worth the wait if you have a little extra room to spare in the garden. Congos can grow up to 50 pounds and have a high sugar content with a lot of excellent, sweet flavor.
Melons are a rich source of potassium, vitamin A, and vitamin C, as well as potassium and fiber.
Melons need good pollination to ensure that you have ample fruit set. Plant with lots of herbs and flowers to bring in pollinators.
Starter will be in a 4" reusable nursery pot.

Orders over $200 can be scheduled for free, front-door delivery to Monroe County, MS. customers. We'll also have a few delivery drops in North Columbus and Tupelo and are happy to meet customers with any order size at our drop locations.
